Top trainer Roy Chillemi has won his dream Quinella, winning the Cleveland Bay with Kanetoshi King and Gunners Barracks. To make the victory even sweeter Chillemi ended the season by winning yet another Townsville Premiership. This will be his 8th premiership win in 9 seasons.
Chillemi could not have completed this feat without the help and support of his staff.

The Australian newspaper
dated August 13, 2007.
Stand aside Lee Freedman, David Hayes, Gai Waterhouse, and John Hawkes, North Queensland trainer Roy Chillemi has overcome Australia's best racehorse conditioners by topping the national traiiners strike rate for 2006-07 racing season.
Chillemi, 58, has been a leading trainer in the Cairns district for several seasons but is hardly a household name south of Brisbane.
His performance to prepare 86 winners from 332 starters, gave him a strike rate of 25.9 per cent - or a winner from every four horses he took to the races.
The humble trainer was flattered by the revelation that the figures provided, but said at the end of the day they don't mean too much to him.
"I don't really take a lot of notice of that sort of thing," Chillemi said.

About Roy Chillemi
Roy has been training for 25 years. In that time he has won six Queensland Provincial and Country Premierships, Seven Townsville Premierships, and an amount of Far North Queensland Premierships. His strike rate of runners to winners is second to none. Roy has a great passion for training and buying horses which he has done for a great many years. He has many southern contacts for which he can rely on for purchasing tried horses at reasonable prices. Roy attends yearling sales and selects yearlings to purchase for syndication.
He has been married for 37 years and has two daughters, Melanie and Cherie. Melanie is stable foreperson and has filled this position for 8 years. Carmel, his wife of 37 years does the office work with the help from daughter Cherie.
The Chillemi racing stables has a very high credibilty and is respected as a very competitive racing stable.
The stables are located in Tolga, on the Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland. Roy decided to situate himself in Tolga because of the cooler weather. The stables are called Tanbrook Lodge. They are sitauated on the Kennedy Highway directly opposite Morrow Park Racecourse, Tolga.
